Drafted by the
Milwaukee Brewers in the 22nd round
Played in rookie ball
advanced for the Helena Brewers in Montana. Threw 21 innings with 35
K’s and 1 BB. Went 1-0 with 8 saves and a 1.29 era.
I was
called up to Low A
with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Threw 6 innings without giving up a
run with 8 K’s and a save before getting called up again.
I ended up in High A
with the Brevard County Manatees pitching 13.2 innings. Went 1-0 with 2
saves and a 1.98 era
At the end of my
first pro season with the Milwaukee Brewers I pitched 40.2 innings of
relief with a 1.33 era, went 2-0 with 11 saves and 59 K’s. I also
received Pitcher of the Week twice.
Spring 2009
Attended Nova
Southeastern University where I threw 108 innings going 10-3 with a 2.65
era my senior year. I also led the nation with 145 K’s and only 19 BB’s.
I was named 3rd
team NCBWA All-American, 3rd team ABCA/Rawlings
All-American, 2nd team All-SSC, 1st team ABCA/Rawlings
All-South Region, 1st team NCBWA All-South Region and 2nd
team DAKTRONICS All-South Region.
